Business Sponsorship

Thank you for considering supporting Mattie's Heartsong Swim 2008!

With the generous assistance of people like you, we will be able to support the commemoration of Mattie Stepanek in the 26-acre Rockville City Park named for him with a life-size statue of him and his service dog, Micah.  Your support will also enable the development of educational programs that teach children that there are peaceful ways to resolve conflicts.

In 2007, without having ever embarked on this sort of community event, our blind goal was to raise $15,000 in order to make the completion of the Mattie statue a possibility.  Businesses like yours helped us surpass that goal with a final tally of over $16,000 and over $2,000 in in-kind donations.  This year we hope to triple those numbers and raise $50,000 to finalize the installation of the statue, as well as to increase handicap accessibility of the park.

This year, we expect over 200 members of the Rockville community to participate in the two-hour marathon swimming event.  Countless family and community members will also be in attendance.  In 2007, the event was discussed on air with the Jack Diamond Morning Show of radio fame.  In addition, WJLA reporter Gretta Kreuz, was on site to cover the event.

Our new venue, the Rockville Municipal Swim Center, is a big upgrade in size and notoriety.  In fact, we are increasing our lane space from 6 lanes in 2007 to 20 this year!

Sponsors providing donations valued at $500 or more (by June 1, 2008) will be listed on event t-shirts.  Please follow this link to complete a donation form.

For your tax record purposes, the Mattie J.T. Stepanek King Farm Foundation, Inc. is an American not-for-profit charity approved by the IRS under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and incorporated in the State of Maryland.
